hexafarms Partners with Kwekerij van der Vleuten and ZON to Bring Forecasting Clarity to Growers
Berlin, 11.05.2026 — hexafarms is pleased to announce a new partnership with Kwekerij van der Vleuten, member of the growers cooperative ZON, marking an important step in bringing data- driven forecasting tools to cooperative growers across the Netherlands.
Kwekerij van der Vleuten is taking the lead together with a select group of additional ZON growers as part of a broader ambition to help both the growers and ZON strengthen their supply chain planning from the ground up.
Thinking Big
For Kwekerij van der Vleuten, this partnership is about getting something they have long needed: a clearer picture of what's coming. Better forecasts translate directly into better decisions — whether that's coordinating harvest logistics, aligning supply with buyer commitments, or simply reducing the uncertainty that makes fresh produce planning so difficult.
"With the hexafarms system we can provide better service to our customers, plan our operations better, and make sure everyone is happy" said Joost van der Vleuten, Co-owner Kwekerij van der Vleuten.
Forecasting as a Foundation for Scale
Supply chain planning in fresh produce has historically relied on experience, intuition, and manual processes. While those remain valuable, they become harder to scale as organisations grow and as market demands become more complex and time-sensitive.
"hexafarms allows us to proactively sell our growers' produce ensuring a better price over the entire season and more revenue for our growers" said Ricky Gommans from ZON.
hexafarms' forecasting technology is designed to complement the knowledge growers already have — turning crop data and growing patterns into reliable, forward-looking production insights.
For Kwekerij van der Vleuten and ZON, introducing this kind of structured forecasting at the grower level creates a consistent data foundation that can support smarter decisions at every layer of the cooperative.
"Forecasting is one of the main challenges growers face currently that has direct impact on their bottom line. We are proud to support Kwekerij van der Vleuten and ZON in deploying not only a tool that will help them plan better, but a solution to create more predictability and security in their supply chain" said Ties van der Linden at hexafarms.
The ambition is clear: demonstrating the value of forecasting-led planning — giving the cooperative the tools to manage supply more predictably and support its growers with greater confidence.
